The Glasgow Lyric Choir, Georgian Orchestra and soloists return to the atmospheric setting of St Andrews in the Square to perform F.J. Haydn's stunning masterpiece.  The powerful St. Cecilia Mass contains some of his finest music and is performed as a fitting tribute to the composer in his celebratory year.

A Musical Journey

A concert to include the world premiere of 'From a Railway Carriage', a piece written for the choir by Nick Chamberlain as part of the Adopt a Composer scheme.  The piece is a setting of  Robert Louis Stevenson's poem of the same name. The single movement work describes a series of fleeting movements as witnessed from a railway carriage speeding through the countryside.

The concert will also include:

Goodall: The Lord is my Shepherd (from The Vicar of Dibley)
Elgar: From the Bavarian Highlands
Dvorak: Songs of Nature
Copland: Ching-a-Ring Chaw!
